Certified Organic Lamb
Our Partnership with Longreach Organic Lamb
At Australian Organic Meat Co, we are on a mission to encourage more Australians to purchase organic meats such as organic lamb. Choosing to live more organically has positive effects on human health such as the added omega-3 fatty acids, lower cholesterol and added antioxidants. But it also ensures higher welfare standards for Australian animals and positive environmental impacts. With livestock eating organically, this assists with soil health and biodiversity and supports farmers who choose to raise their animals and ethically care for their land.
In producing Australian White Lambs, Longreach organic lamb are known as ‘the Wagyu of lamb.’ Nurturing their lambs from paddock to plate, LOL practice low stress handling of their livestock as it ensures a natural and ethical life for the animal and influences the tenderness and quality of the meat.
With a range of diverse and seasonal native grasses available, they consume purely a grass-fed diet free from sprays and chemicals. Certified Organic grass-fed meat is also higher in essential omega’s and has a higher nutritional content than conventional lamb.
Producing sustainable lamb, pasture management is a primary focus for LOL as it equates to the consistent quality of the lamb and ensures the preservation of vegetation. It also has beneficial impacts on off-farm environments, as organic farming reduces impacts on climate change by storing more carbon in the pasture which can offset greenhouse gas emissions. That’s why putting organic meat on your plate can have a greater impact on your health and the wider environment.
